equipment - detail
Classic analogue mono synth capable of producing some very interesting sounds and effects. Having 2 voltage controlled filters (high pass as well as low pass) means you can create a whole range of sounds that other mono synths simply can't touch. The ring modulator setting can produce those really gritty noises when combined with the HPF. I really like this dirty and metallic type of sound.
The patchbay can be used to further edit sounds and can be a bit confusing to get your head round at first, I think this is because the synth is 'half modular' and the patchbay is not laid out in the most logical way.
I have the CV and Gate inputs hooked up to a Kenton Pro 4 MIDI - CV converter, this allows me to sequence the MS-20 using MIDI and because the Pro 4 has plenty of Aux outs, I can sequence control changes as well, such as creating filter sweeps from a foot controller, etc.
